The Cheekwood Art Collections of the Cheek family were collected and displayed with care their collection of comprised of decorative silver, books, paintings, furniture, textiles, and arts. Now, the Cheekwood Collections encompassed the Cheek kin collection and the archival materials, and also paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, niche collections and works on paper amassed since the Cheekwood launching to the community in 1960. The masterpieces include the biggest collections of sculptures of William Edmondson, the portraits of Jamie Wyeth and Andy Warhol for each other, the fine examples by the American impressionists John White Alexander, William Merritt Chase and Childe Hassam, and also the works on papers and the paintings by The Eight, the early 20th century artist collection in the New York City. The Collections of CheekwoodCheekwood had conducted a Foundation for the Collections Access project, which was created possible by the major grant from the National Endowment for Humanities. Any findings, conclusions, recommendations or even views expressed in this collection of Cheekwood project and on the website, do not essentially represent that of the National Bequest for the Humanities. The Cheekwood offer that unique surroundings in which you will experience an outdoor contemporary sculpture and the permanent fathering features the diverse varieties of artworks—there are lots that commissioned specifically for an institution—made by internationally, nationally, regionally, and the recognized artists from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain, and fit in across the organization’s 55-acre estates. The Carell Trail presents the various ranges of sculptures, made by regionally, internationally and nationally identified artists. These works where in lots of which had been commissioned for Cheekwood, examined the relationship between nature and art through their personal, distinctive way, making thoughtful, beautiful dialogues with its surrounding landscapes. The Rotating ExhibitionsThe next floor or the second one of this Historic Mansion and Museum not only gives as a colonnade for the permanent collections of the museum, but also to the rotating exhibitions all throughout the year. Seigenthaler Pedestrian BridgeThis Bridge of John Seigenthaler Pedestrian that is formerly called as Shelby Street Pedestrian’s Bridge connects to the downtown to a football stadium and spanned the Cumberland River. There is really no automobile traffic here and so the walkers and the cyclists are all moving at their own pace, usually stopping to take pictures of the downtown and the river too.
